I have been a long time patient of Dr Turner 13 years now. He saved my life from depression and extreme anxiety. He has the knowledge that no other doctor I have had previous to him has. He not only listens but he cares when he speaks to you and gives the best advice out there. The negative reviews I am not sure where they are coming from he is the best out there! I highly recommend him.

I spent many years in his care and was warned multiple times by loved ones that he over medicates his patients but sadly I didn't listen. I find it very sad that psychiatrists have changed their job description from active listeners and helpers to pill pushers with a God complex. They label you with some diagnostic term and prescribe drugs indefinitely that are meant only for temporary use. He diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder and for many years had me taking multiple mind numbing drugs and I still wanted to die. Over two years ago I walked out of his office, stopped taking the medication and began seeing a psychoanalyst. Today I'm a different person, thinking clearly and functioning very well. I do not suffer from any major depression or mood swings or anxiety and I no longer have any desire to die, in fact I'm looking ahead with anticipation. Psychiatrists need to start treating the cause of our symptoms instead of just treating the symptoms. I also believe our government should be covering psychoanalysts like they cover psychiatrists because they are the real healers and they definitely don't get enough credit. How is it even possible for a psychiatrist to expect any positive progress from one ten minute appointment a month. I'm beginning to wonder who's really the "crazy" ones here.

Dr. Peter Turner is the typical Caucasian who has no knowledge of "people". In a country that is filled with people from international backgrounds, it comes as no surprise, that his relations and emotional connection with people falls considerably short. In my interactions with him and the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital, it seems like you do all of the talking while they struggle to contribute in a caring and meaningful manner. It feels like whatever personal information you share with them, might be used to their advantage - against you. I am quite the opposite, in the sense that i understand how to level with others and desire to have a positive impact on someone else's life. Its sad, really, to know that someone in his position does not know how to deal with people. In my opinion, the best possible way to face a problem is head on and not to ignore it - like he suggest, but to find a solution. No one likes to be told that you will continue to live in suffering and that your future is hopeless. You feel like you are talking with someone who does not have your best interest at heart. Not sure if its because he's never felt loved but now i'm questioning whether its me who needs the help or if its him.. This world is not all about money, so before you attempt to narrow in your vision on the money don't forget about the people because its the latter that makes life precious. Stop asking yourselves how you can, for example, use a person in a bad situation to make a profit. (Expect to wait about an hour to see him at your appointment"s". He does not value people's lives and neither does he give a damn about their time).
