Taking a trip whether it is a scenic day flight or a week-long stay in the wilderness on a high mountain lake is just a magical experience. Don't forget to take a paddle on one of this high mountain lakes. Something about a paddle is perfect for the soul.
Nick came and grabbed us last minute on a long weekend remote fly fishing adventure when Helicopter services the long way were cost prohibitive. Right on time where he said he’d be and couldn’t have offered any better service with the gearload And complexities of our request all at extremely reasonable rates. Will definitely be checking out other services offered by LD air. Cheers nick
The lodge/fishing is fairly described on their website. I trolled Tesla Lk. for about 1-1/2 hrs/day(best early am) and caught several nice rainbows including a 24" and 27" by downriging at 50 ft. with big lures(Apex Hot Shot and Canadian Wonder #5-1/2 worked-others didn't). High winds sometimes hindered/stopped trolling. Facility was as described with 24 hr. electricity and satellite phone check-in. The fire burned area distracts from the otherwise excellent scenery. Mosquitoes were fierce at times - bring "fogger" for indoors and Deet for outside. I have fished at other fly-in BC cabins/lakes but never caught as large of fish or had the amenities(smoker, freezer...) available here. Highly recommended!
This place is a gem! Nick and his pilots are very capable, friendly and courteous. The cabin is beautiful and is well equipped with solar, inverter, showers, hot water and cooking and cleaning supplies. Tesla Lake is amazing and has some beautiful looking trout. This trip is an amazing experience and it's easy to see why people come from out of country to experience it
Thank you to Nick and the pilots at Lakes District Air for hosting us last year on a trip of a lifetime! Tesla Lake cabin is fully outfitted with all the amenities of home. The cabin is stocked with all the cooking supplies, instant hot water, power, sat phone, and all the firewood you would ever need. Rooms are comfortable and a good size to easily accommodate our party of four. The scenery is spectacular, with plenty of opportunity to explore along the hiking trails between the smaller lakes and up into the alpine. Of course the fishing was excellent, time must be put in on the water if you're after "Walter" the illusive 20lber but there are many other hard fighting fish eager to take your lure or fly. The first line on the LD Air website about Tesla Lake says "Privacy, Solitude, and world class BC Fishing" and thats exactly what is delivered. Would absolutely recommend anyone to give Nick a call a book a trip, cannot say enough great things about his operation. Cheers and tight lines
Just got back from Tesla (our second time there} and booked another week for next year. This is a magic place. Everything you could possibly need is provided at their beautiful lodge. The scenery is fantastic and the fishing is great. Our host Nick has worked very hard to ensure that his clients are provided with an experience they will not forget. The remoteness of the lakes and the beauty of the landscape is second to none. Thanks Nick.
I've been on two three day fishing trips with Nick. Both were amazing. Cabins were great, fishing was amazing.....both fresh water and salmon off the coast. The views were spectacular and Nick is one amazing pilot who knows his way around the coast. Definitely a trip of a lifetime.
