The telephone workflow is awful and requires improvement. The rule is you ring at 8 AM for an appointment for that day. My record is 143 without getting through. If you are lucky enough to get through the excitement quickly dissipates after listening to a long-automated explanation of all the rules for appointments and prescriptions to be told there are no appointments left. Consider using a second voicemail that can be switched on when all appointments have been taken then patients can get through and be informed automatically without causing them wasted time and frustration. Such a message could be used up to 8.30 AM for example and then switch back to the standard voicemail. Just an idea, thanks for listening and thank you, especially during this difficult time.
