I write this review after yet another dissatisfied visit to the Bury branch. This time the store was closed due to refurbishment. There is nothing on the website to suggest that this would be the case but it does not surprise me to find this as it is just another example of the incompetence of the Halifax. Still, that did not help the droves of people who had come out on a freezing cold day to access the bank only to find out that this would not be possible. Neither was there any information about how long it would be closed for. I have banked with the Halifax for several years, but this for me, after a long line of queues, incompetent staff, staff stood chatting whilst people are waiting in the long queues, cash machines that are out of service, and, I could go on, has been the deciding factor to close my account and bank elsewhere.
I transferred my bank account to Halifax from rbs about a year ago and have been happy with there service throughout,l. If I've had any quieres or problems they have been of great help in resolving them and given great customer service.definat
It took a couple of goes to get through to the branch (and avoid being transferred to the telephone support staff) but I was able to speak to one of the staff in the Bury Branch. She was most helpful and went to a fair bit of trouble to find me an appointment to discuss mortgage arrangements later today.
Very unhelpful branch,feel like they are told to be as unhelpful as possible. Asked them to transfer a large amount of money that I didn't want to transfer through my app,they asked me to do this a couple of times and I said no. After much persistence they transferred the money,then I asked if they would set up a transaction for the day after knowing they could do this and would save me finishing work early again and coming back to the bank! But my dismay they lied to my face and said they can't do it,after asking why several times they eventually help . Very unhappy with the service received and feel they get worse every time I visit. This is the first reveiw I have left on Google and don't normally complain but felt compelled to,I will be leaving this bank after 15 years.
Say they will put you through to someone and it just rings out constantly, so annoying
