One of the better mental health facilities I've experienced. Staff are mostly friendly and genuinely care about your well being. If something is bothering you, can talk to them and they WILL help when they get time. Own room and private bathroom which is a big positive compared to other units, break room and nice food (with the reminder of eating veg and drinking water). Only downside was during my stay the ward was horridly understaffed. This is due to no fault of the staff themselves, and they were making the best of the situation. All in all, once your medicine kicks and if you have the ability, get to know the people during your stay and take part in gym activity, drawing etc. They really help you out, as well as giving skills and routine when leaving the unit.

I’ve been here for 2 weeks and up to now it’s alright staying here. The staff treat you ok, the food is alright, the activities during the day are ok too. I have my bed changed about 3-4 time in a week but there only one thing I struggle with to speak to the staff about my feeling or thoughts

I stayed in two years ago I loved it. All patients were like family. All staff were really good. Didn’t rush me to go home. Food was good and it was just like home from home.

Really good care given here at the Irwell unit. I got seen to really fast and they actually did help you rather than rush to send you home.

Didn’t get told why I was there I was confused staff were useless and I ended up escaping in fear and possibly misdiagnosed with psychosis and now have flat emotions and many other problems
