A very interesting place to visit. I would definitely recommend the guided tour and visiting the coffee shop afterwards!

I live close to this extremely attractive location. One its most endearing features is it honest simplicity. It is an extremely photogenic site with exceptional views of the nearby windmill. It has a very pleasant cafe/ tea room and you can spend several happy and informative hours here at a very reasonable cost. The grounds are open when the mill is open. Milling is carriedout on Thursday mornings every week between Easter and September. The mill is open also for visitors from 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays and every bank holiday Monday in the season. Flour is ground using the set of stones run from the water wheel. A guided tour is available and is highly informative. The content of the tour covers the method of milling, the difference between stone ground and white bread, the social importance of the mill in this location (1000 yrs), if you are fortunate the tour will close after about 45-50 minutes in the old Elizabethan kitchen where the visitor can explore the huge chimney, the traditionally heated brick oven , the brewing vat and the kitchen use linked with wash house facilities. I challenge anyone to not be satisfied by the friendly and knowledgeable approach of the volunteer staff. It is well worth the time available.

Well worth the trip if you're reasonably local. The tour of the mill is great and if you're lucky you'll actually see it making flour. The gardens are picturesque and there's also a tea room. Everything is made with flour from the mill. We had the quiche and the coffee cake...both were delicious.

Really nice little tea room with lovely cakes/scones etc. Especially nice to have tea and cake out by the mill pond. The tour is very interesting and you can purchase the flour ground there.
