Very peaceful for meditation in the temple.Monks are very friendly and kind
Another of Port Arthur's premier tourist attractions. This is a Vietnamese Buddhist temple with some gardens. The main touristy parts are the gardens. No appointment needed, just stroll on in and appreciate. Bamboo, lotus pond, statues, koy pond all the usual’s you find in an Asian garden. Its quite nice. The people that work/volunteer there are very nice, though English isn’t always their strongest language. Inside the temple itself there are many prayer rooms and the main sanctuary. Back in Port Arthur's golden years this place used to be a church of some kind, so there are still pews. The building isn’t always open but we’ve never had issues wandering the place when it is. If your looking for something to see while your in town this is definitely one for the to see list.
