A small, cosy B & B run by Monika (therefore, Mona!}. She set this up for a trial period and, so far, has found it to be working well. In the farming community of Büren, it's a good jumping off point for Basel and the surrounding walking and trekking area. Breakfasts are brilliant and enormously large. You don't really need a lunch after Mona's morning hospitality! We had to ask her to slow-down! She serves local farm produce the quality of which will leave you impressed. She's friendly, affectionate and enormously helpful along with her delightfully droll husband, William. Download the SBB app and have the legendary Swiss transport connectivity at your fingertips. If that confuses you, "Ask Mona" is the mantra that never fails Indians would be interested to know of Mona's Punjabi, Indian roots of which she's enormously proud having integrated beautifully into the conservative Swiss village community after marriage and relocating from India. A journalist by training, she takes a critical and informed interest in her adopted community and country. A sure sign of feisty intelligence. She takes a kind and helpful interest in the well-being of her guests, patiently helping with advice whenever needed. She's a fun and hospitable hostess!

Ich habe mich hier sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Familie mit super leckerem Frühstück. Wir waren zu einer Zeit dort, wo 35C Außentemperatur herrschten. Trotzdem waren die Zimmer ausreichend kühl um gut zu schlafen, außerdem wurde uns gerne ein Ventilator zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Zimmer selbst waren sauber und man konnte vor Ort auch Wein und Getränke aus einem Kühlschrank bekommen und in eine auf Ehrlichkeit basierende Kasse einzahlen. Ich kann Mona's B&B wärmsten empfehlen, für alle die nicht unbedingt in der Stadt übernachten wollen.
