Terrible experience. The wait was so long and the car was awful- flat tire, dead battery, junk! AND, it was 500 for the week. They really rip you off- absolutely the worst I have ever used.

Horrible experience! I made my reservation online and was quoted 154 for renting a vehicle from them for a week and ended up paying close to 500 due to a forced insurance package that I was required to purchase before being allowed to take possession of the vehicle.. Secondly, they practice false advertising; the vehicle offered to me online was not available once I arrived at this Hertz location and was informed that they do not even own that type of vehicle there so I was forced to downgrade for the same price. The Hertz agent proceeded to show me and offer me a vehicle in their lot for a 5/day upgrade fee. I elected to accept the fee for the vehicle she pointed out but once I stepped out to take possession of the vehicle, I was presented with another vehicle of lower class.

Do not use this company. The 5 star reviews are fake and all same the same thing. Check for yourself they all say "excellent service". They ripped us off totally. They charge 45.5% taxes. They claim it is airport taxes but that is a lie. We rented a full size car and received a mid size, our rental was 350 and with 90% insurance and their supposed taxes it came to 970. It took them 45 minutes to get our car ready and it was full of dents and scratches. AC didnt work right. Unless you enjoy getting ripped off do not use this company.

When we landed in cabo right after customs check they have a row of car rental places. We were going to drive to La Paz so we needed a car. We picked thrifty car rental since we used them when we were in Maui. I knew we had to get 3rd party insurance in Mexico. We go and talk to him and I ask him what the cost of the rental would be with all the insurance I would need. He quoted me a price and I said ok. They tell you to walk outside and the shuttle will be waiting for us. It is and they take us to the off-site rental location. They bring us to a huge Hertz building and I find out that they are affiliated somehow. We get in line and walk up to the counter and they ask for your license and credit card. This is when they inform me that I may want to get a couple of other insurance item. Like in case you hit someone or total the car. I said I thought this was covered. It was not. We needed to drive so I agree. Turned out to be about 45 dollars a day. I suggest that once you inspect the car you get in and go. They will have someone there that will offer you a discount on the car if you will go to a presentation (if you want to spend 4hours saying no) then do it otherwise I would suggest you pass. I did like the car and made getting out easy and driving to la paz very easy.

My friends from the US rented a Hertz car for one day to go to cabo pulmo. We arrive at the shop to pick up the car, no one at the shop. We call and call about 4 times. They make us wait an hour outside the shop. The car finally arrived at my house at 10 pm. Next day when they drive to cabo pulmo they realize there is a nail on the tire (this was at 5am when they began driving) They charge my friends the regular rate and they said the nail got in while they were driving to cabo pulmo(although the nail was there since 5am). if I was able to give 0 stars i would.

Do Not rent from Hertz. They give you a quote then triple it when you try to pick up the car. Total scam!!

“Don’t expect the level of service of the US” is what the manager told us... you can imagine the rest

Its the worst Hertz Agency I have ever visited. The phone number does not work and nobody answers anything.
