David and the team serve amazing food at a very reasonable price, I have eaten in a few Michelin star places and this is at that standard, forget all the faff and theatre, this is real food, cooked really well and served in am unassuming and friendly way. Superb

This is the second time we have been to Vel Papiil. The service is excellent and the food is wonderful. We had mussels with romesco, clams in a lovely broth, and a seafood noodle paella. The only reason I give 4 stars vs 5 is because about a 3rd of the mussels were closed and they served them to us. They were surprised and whisked them away when we pointed it out but did not offer to provide more. We would definitely visit again, but I did expect them to offer a substitute or additional mussels since many of them were inedible. We finished our meal with mini chocolate cakes which were delish.
