Amazing staff Having put children through several different programs - this school is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. They are so patient , caring and straightforward with the kids . They actually teach the children and not just taekwondo. The last tournament I attended I was shocked at how cleaner their poomse’s were and the quality of taekwondo compared to the other schools . It was actually easy for me to identify which students were from Calgary Taekwondo Academy . Hands down the best school in the city !! Have nothing but great things to say . *update* With the closure of the school and the introduction of online zoom classes, this school has not only managed to maintain the training , but in such a way that they really focus and look at each of the kids . I feel like my child has actually improved and become far more aware of corrections that need to be made . We participate in zoom meets in different sports and no team or organization has gone to the lengths that the masters have gone . They have mastered the technology and software to really enhance the experiences for their students . Break out rooms with different instuctors, private one on one lessons and homework checks to keep the kids accountable and mindful of their forms . My kids were hesitant on going back to zoom in all the other team sports but absolutely excited and enthusiastic to do the taekwondo zoom meets ! ️️️ Thank you Master Lau and Master Kim for everything you do and have done for the kids We are so lucky to have you!

We had a great experience with Taekwondo. It teaches discipline, concentration, it is challenging and yet rewarding, it strengthens both mind and body. The masters and teachers at the Academy set a high standards for themselves and for their students. They teach their art with great responsibility and pride. The numerous awards from local and provincial competitions are the reflection of the high achievement of the students in the Academy. If you would like to be a part of this exciting character building and gracious martial art, the Taekwond Academy is an excellent choice!

My wife and son have been taking lessons here since 2006; she's now a 1st degree black belt and our son is an apprentice black belt. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of the kicks and punches they've mastered. The training builds respect for self and others, courtesy, humility, integrity, and confidence. It's a great place to acquire not only martial arts skills, but also to form a more wholesome character.

My son just had his 6th birthday party at the Calgary Taekwondo Academy. We were thrilled with how the party went. The instructors (3 of them) were amazing with the group of 15 kids. All the children had a blast. The activities they did were engaging, fast-paced and the kids were pumped about all the things they could try out and learn. It was awesome for parents as they did about 40 mins of instruction and then the kids had a break and ate the snack/cake/pizzas that I brought. Then they went back and did a fun circuit with the instructors for another 15 mins and then the parents picked up theirs kids right after that. The 1.5hr party was a blast and I got great feedback from the parents about how much their child loved the party! Highly recommend! Awesome instructors - super engaging with the kids! Huge win for our son’s birthday!

I have had the honor of knowing Master Lau and Master Kim since 1999 and highly recommend them and their programs at the Calgary Taekwondo Academy. Having trained with them first hand and witnessed their dedication to the martial arts, I can say with confidence that new students will have a positive experience from which to develop a solid base of knowledge, and returning students will be challenged to excel and refine their skills.
