Oil change
Took my working car to them for an oil change and general inspection and left with a broken car on a trailer because it no longer turned on. For that pleasure I paid 593.94 for the mechanic to BREAK my car. They gave me a list of things they said needed to be replaced and taken care of. Of that list, they listed ONE action item that would return the car to running order. Not wanting to pay their estimated 4000 for those repairs (and still not know if they would repair the car) I took it away and had the work done for a grand total of 350. The one part they recommended replacing got replaced, and the car STILL did not run. We finally fixed the damage they did and put the old part back because (despite their diagnosis) THAT particular part worked FINE. I had liked this shop before, but after that experience I lost complete faith in their diagnostic abilities or prices.

I've been a long-time customer of North Hill. Every time I buy another vehicle, I take it to them first for a thorough inspection. Their repairs are well done and they advise me of other things that need attention. I also get email service reminders from them, so they're on top of everything.

I visited North Hill for my Out of Province (OOP) vehicle inspection. Overall the experience was good and everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. The online report with photos, measurements, and comments was a very nice touch. On the report, they found a few on safety\ things that were wrong with my car, but they were not being pushy to get me to fix them right away. Very nice. The technician was willing to test out a theory of mine (that a specific, removed fuse was triggering an air bag code). This was something that initially caused me to fail the inspection, so it was comforting to get confirmation about it and I appreciated the extra effort. They did mistakenly identify my third brake light as defective, when it's actually just a strange design from Ford. Even their Ford contact misdiagnosed it, so we went through the whole process of getting a new tail light ordered and tested only to realise it was unnecessary. It's not really North Hill's fault, but it would be nice if they had some way of knowing these kinds of details about their clients' cars without having to just \try it\. I'm NOT taking any stars away for this. It's just feedback.
Great inspections service (201 Point Inspection) Was interested in purchasing a car, while I was in Edmonton, and they were able to accommodate and send me all the information needed. Unfortunately did not get the car because of issues found by them but great that I didn’t have to waste money going out to grab a bad car!
