An island of warmth and hospitality; Jason the owner allowed me to hide in the Inn for a few hours during a storm in the area. The food was incredibly tasty and the fireplace was a godsend. Had a few good chats with Jason and jams on the guitar; definitely will be back if i'm ever in the area again!

Erratic - the web site site says contact them to make a booking. No response to the phone numbers or the email request. Called again a couple of days later for lunch the following day - “no problem, booking not needed, see you then”. When we got their there was a sign on the door saying not opening until the evening .... such a waste for a beautiful setting.
Lovely little place off the beaten track. Great service from the young boy working the bar and restaurant. We had soup and a burger each, both really nice, especially the sweet potato and chilli soup. Our dog was made to feel very welcome, as were we.
Couldn’t fault the Byre Inn. Jason is a great host. Just had a meal for 2...beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Book in advance as it does get fully booked...it’s well worth it. We’ll be back on Friday!!
Jason is very friendly and creative plus he was kind enough to give two thirsty cyclists a pint on Sunday
