I always try local vendors for my astronomy gear. Unfortunately my habit is a tad advanced these days and the local shops do not always have what I need. In this case Tim had what I was looking for, a small HA Solar scope, that would be quick to setup and very portable for trips and public events. Their price was competitive when compared to the larger mail-order shops, and the service better. I was able to play with the scope before purchasing it, to make sure it was up to the task. If you need a good starter scope and you’re in Atlanta, make the trip to Camera Bug.

I have been going to Camera Bug for over a year now. I am about to purchase my third scope from him and have bought countless other accessories. The store has very knowledgeable staff and you never know who you might meet in the store. Ask a question and you will get an honest answer. They do not try to oversell you because they know if you get hooked (and most are) you will be back! Thanks Tim.

What a find is Camera Bug! At the far back of the Sage Hill Shopping Center, where Johnson Rd. comes across Briarcliff just south of Clifton, this highly informed gentleman...didn't catch his name but he's a native Atlantan!...is definitely the metro area's "Binoculars King." Having called essentially everyone else to buy a particular Nikon 7x50 pair - and none of the others a search "binoculars" pulled up on Google Maps had any 7x50's of any make...Camera Bug had multiple different models of Nikon in the resolution I needed, and several brands with the same resolution to compare, contrast, or pick from. It was almost unbelievable...so if you are looking for binoculars in the Atlanta area: do yourself a favor and start with Camera Bug.

These guys are extremely helpful. I am new to astronomy and they have really helped me to understand how to use my new telescope. I never feel like they are trying to get me to buy anything, or push me toward more expensive accessories (lenses and such). They will get all of my business when it comes to my new hobby.

It's hard to find a telescope / eyepiece dealer anywhere, but Camera Bug has a great selection. The staff was helpful on the phone and in-store, and I walked out with a solar filter for my 4" refractor. It's a cool store!

Each time that I have visited Camera Bug with problems with my digital camera, the employees have been very helpful and have solved the problems.
