Amazing place for a family visit. The staff takes the time to share many interesting stories if you're interested. Special attention deserves the insectarium. We could never imagine the insects would be so fascinating.
This museum does a fantastic job of explaining the importance and history of small aircraft that use water as a runway or resource. There are loads of fun activities for young kids and lots of cool, complicated engineering stuff for adults to geek out on. I only spent an hour there but if you can, allow at least two or three. Also, the insect museum was an unexpected bonus! Small, but cool!
Great local museum here in the Sault! Excellent opportunity to take the family out and learn about the history of the Bushplane industry and view a large variety of planes in person. They also do private events and local vendor shopping opportunities are available, like the one being hosted today. Come by to learn about bush planes and finish your Christmas shopping with purchases from local artisans. Larger events will likely start up again after the pandemic.
A nice pleasant surprise! Well maintained place with lots of activities for kids. My kids absolutely loved it, we found this place fascinating too. Don’t miss the 3D movie. An absolute gem and a big surprise was a small section of Bugs and Insects, the keeper was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He showed us every single bugs and insects in every single container that they have, even took some out from the backroom. We love the stick bugs and the leaf bugs. We ended up spending talking to him over half an hour about insects. Our kids got fascinated by them too. Some impressive insects and creepy crawlies they got there.
Awesome museum of planes! There is an exotic insect display as well which is really interesting. Nice friendly staff
13 per adult, 4 per child was very fair for such a great museum. It gives a comprehensive history of the bushplanes and their integral role in the great Canadian North. The 3D Bush Fire movie was very immersive and exciting. The people in the bug exhibit to the side were very patient and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.
Could spend in incredible amount of time here, so much more stuff than expected
