Capital door stripping stripped my 4 doors and the results were top class!! The doors look very beautiful. We will definitely use them to strip our table and chairs.

I almost never leave a bad review, but I feel terribly let down in this case. I have had doors stripped here previously and they were OK. This time, however, I decided to have the stripped and sanded. I understood that the doors would take longer for the stripping and was told 2 weeks, however, 2 weeks passed and I had no communication, so I emailed and texted but got no reply. Finally I called and was told the doors would be delivered the following week. Again, there was no communication and no delivery, so I called again, to be told they would try to deliver the next Saturday. As expected, no delivery and no communication. Eventually the doors were scheduled to be returned. Since the website said cash was not accepted, I offered to pay via bank transfer, but then was told (via text) that the payment had to clear before the doors would be delivered in an hour. Obviously not possible since their bank is different to mine. Even then, the driver asked for cash on delivery and seemed unaware that the website said they didn't accept cash! Worst of all, however, two of the doors were completely ruined (badly warped panels) and I was told, "it sometimes happens" with no offer of discount or refund. And to add insult to injury, the worst sanding job I've ever seen - messy, rough and essentially need to be sanded. So, for 205 I have two stripped doors and two doors that can not be used. Luckily I have no more doors in my house, so will have no need to use this company again.

Appalling Service Having booked online for stripping an internal door, choosing the advertised option to take the door myself, I received a response to say that they do not have insurance so do not allow customers to drop the door off, they have to collect – at a cost of an additional 25. This more than doubled the price as well as being false advertising. I accepted this and was given a two hour time slot for collection. A message was received within this slot that the driver would be up to 90 minutes late. Two hours after the end of the time slot they still hadn't arrived. We phoned and the person said they would find out where the driver was and call straight back. They didn't so we called again. We were told it would be another 15 minutes 'or so ' with no apology and a refusal to lower the charge for collection for the inconvenience, the only option given was to cancel. I emailed to complain as was even more appalled at the response. They stated they had spoken with my mother several times…untrue, it was twice and both times she had to call them. They said they had apologised multiple times – untrue. They then stated that they called and texted multiple times to say they were late – untrue. I had one text to say they were running 90 minutes late. There were no calls. They finished the email ‘it’s not like we didn’t show up’. There was still no apology even in the email. Shocking customer service. Avoid this totally unprofessional company at all costs.
