Excellent place! Glen is the perfect host. We have stayed there in the winter for cross country skiing, the spring passing through on canoe trips and the fall for mountain biking. Glen has great knowledge of the area and is happy to share it. Yes, it is remote & that's a major part of the appeal. You can get there by train, truck, canoe or mountain bike. Love the place.

The cancelled rifle cow tag is completely false. Our hunting party booked this hunt with this camp in good faith. What he fails to tell you is that it takes three hours to drive in there from after you get off the paved road. The supposed "bush road" is an ATV trail at best. Our two trucks and trailers took a complete beating the way in and on the way out. When we finally got to the camp, the owner did not even greet us or tell us where everything was in camp. Every building is completely dilapidated and has not been maintained in any way. We didn't even stay 24 hours and we packed up and left. Essentially we were robbed of our 1500 deposit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAMP AT ALL COSTS. This doesn't even deserve a one star rating. If you don't believe me, please feel free to get in touch with me and I'll be happy to talk to you about it.

I had a blast bear hunting, fishing, and feasting on some delicious food with a great host (Glen). Yes, the road in is essentially an offroad adventure itself and you won't want to drive your mini cooper lol. What the camp has to offer most is the absolute beauty of the great outdoors in a remote location to get away from everything. I would definitely go again and probably will some day when my boys are old enough. If you're looking for a hunting or fishing adventure in a remote, rustic location with good people, look no further!

We've been going to McKee's Camp for 7 years in all seasons. It's a great place to spend time with friends or family to fish, hunt, relax and play. It's not the Ritz Carlton but I love it that way! My little piece of heaven on earth! Cottages are comfortable and heated with wood stoves and powered by solar. Bring your sleeping bag and enjoy a solid sleep after all the fresh air. If you don't feel like grocery shopping and cooking you can't go wrong with the American Plan. The meals are awesome and Glen is a super host. Counting the weeks until my next trip up!

Found the archery hunting for Bull moose superb! Our group of archery hunters had a very enjoyable and exciting moose hunt this past seaon(2017)! This was our first visit to this camp and will most likely return. Our group was more than satisfied with the accommodations and facilities. As Glens rates are somewhat lower than surrounding camps. Also boats, motors and gas were already supplied at all the closest lakes. Glen had all our meals prepared perfectly for whatever time we required - whether it was a full breakfast and brown bagged lunch well before sunup to full course meals at 9:30pm. The area to hunt was mature, as not recently logged , but this appealed to our group. Several moose were seen from his tree stands. Yes the drive in is a little tricky, but once there , well worth it.

I've been hunting and fishing for 30 years and have stayed in hunt/fish camps many times, McKee's camp has been my biggest disappointment and as a result we are missing our first moose hunt because the "proprietor" (and I use the term loosely) mislead us on what exactly we were getting ourselves into. His 50 km long "bush road" is really an un-maintained ATV trail that took us over 3 hours to travel and gave our vehicles and trailers a beating. We arrived in camp without a welcome or introduction, our cabin was merely pointed out to us without even a tour of the grounds and the facilities. We then realized that we just spent 800 each to rifle hunt out of an archery tree stand in the bush. We lasted one night, packed our stuff and left without so much as a word. It felt like a scam and the fact that Glen didn't approach us while we were packing proved that to us. Luckily he only got our deposit. PS. His newly available cow tag is not from a cancellation.
