I recently moved my mother from Carmel Senior Living due to poor service unfulfilled promises and terrible food. I have never seen front desk personal that were more unfriendly and apathetic to the needs of the seniors and their families they are paid to serve. We were told that our mother would be taken to appointments as needed. In reality appointments are to be made well in advance and then only on a Tuesday’s and Thursdays. She was denied a ride for a Doctor visit and a scheduled biopsy due to not enough drivers available. Once when she was driven to an appointment they forgot to pick her up! She was not taken to an appointment for tax preparation as it was not deemed a medical necessity! There have been no shopping trips for residents since February! I realize Covid precautions are a huge concern but the residents are allowed to leave the facility as long as someone else transports them! Residents are not given their mail until late in the evening as the staff declared they had no time to sort the mail even though it arrived many hours earlier! I advise you to look to other senior living facilities if you want friendly efficient service and palatable food.
I have been here since right before we opened and I love it. Could not imagine not being here. We have absolute amazing residents that I love like my own family and I work with some really great people as well. I think every place has their flaws but one thing I can say for Carmel Senior Living is that what ever the issue may be they do whatever it takes to not only rectify the issue but learn from it and make things even better.
As a healthcare professional, I work closely with other communities. Carmel Senior Living has always exceeded my expectations. They are always very professional, prompt and helpful. We have referred many residents to their community because we know they will be well taken care of.
Friendly staff that has great perception of what fun senior living is. Resident focused and directors that lead the way.
