One of my favorite less talked about attractions in Granada. You can see (in spring and summer at least) peacocks fanning their feathers all around the Carmen, and in spring there is a trelace with incredible flowering hanging to take photos. Great spot for a photo shoot.

You should go! It’s very beautiful and peaceful. The peacocks were a lovely touch as well. We didn’t get to enter the mansion, but it looked absolutely impeccable. The entrance was also free.

Ooh. A hidden gem within the area to explore that’s well worth a visit. From the peacocks that roam the grounds to the full gardens that are all very diverse, this place was surprisingly very large. I had expected to spend about 25mjns here max, and ended up spending much more when I found new places to explore and to take photos. I enjoyed that it wasn’t super heavily touristy plus it’s also free. Definitely check this place out if you’re not doing the Alhambra.

These gardens are close to the Alhambra and entrance is free. We only realised they were there as we were staying in a hotel (Eurostars Washington Irving) that overlooked them. They are worth a visit as they have a wonderful view back over Granada and the Alhambra. They also have lots of different water features and paths. Plus they have several peacocks.

Carmen in this case is referring to a house designed around a central patio. Unfortunately at the time I visited the house was not open to the public. The garden, however, is well worth a visit possessing as it does many interesting features. There are also a number of peacocks that roam free, making for a number of interesting photo opportunities.
