THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I called this branch to have a lien released, (that should have been done 6 years ago) and spoke with the bank manager. She was condescending, rude, and just downright unprofessional. She refused to give me a letter of lien release even though the vehicle had been paid off for 6 years. She told me I had to pay to get it done, and that since I am not the original owner, I would have to contact them to get it released. Since I was purchasing the vehicle used, I did not have the original owners information. She told me: "Google it then! Look them up online!" It is a banks responsibility once something is paid off to release a lien. I know this because I do it daily for clients. And - she wanted to charge a fee for something they were supposed to do in the first place? When a loan/lien is registered in Alberta they charge the PPSA fee up front. The fact that she was trying to get us to pay for something that has already been paid for is ridiculous. Also, it does not go against any privacy laws to give a letter of lien release to the current buyer/owner. She was difficult just to be difficult. **UPDATE** I ended up getting a hold of the original owners. They gave me a letter of lien release from 6 years ago. They went in and paid a fee to this manager and had it released - AGAIN - but it is still showing a lien on Alberta Registries as of today. Pathetic. And the kicker? We still don't have an updated letter of lien release. Worst customer service. Ever. I will NEVER recommend this branch to anyone.
