The DMS is an amazing Makerspace with more resources than a single person could ever hope to begin to use. If you want to make something, the tools are here to do it.

Makerspace is more than a location. It is a community of incredibly talented and helpful people. Highly recommend you go get a tour at least once. You will fall in love with the amount of resources this place has to offer. They have classes to run machines classes for pottery, jewelry, welding, automotive... the list goes on.

I absolutely love this place. If you can think of any project you want to try (wood working, blacksmithing, glass work, 3D printing, etc) this is the place for you. You pay a small membership fee each month to have access to all the equipment 24/7. The members are super helpful. If you do not know how to do something but want to learn, they have an array of classes you can sign up for.

DMS may be the biggest Maker Space in the country, it's about 40,000 square feet of industrial, artistic, and computing powerhouse. I've been a member there for about 3 years, met some very talented people, and developed some mad skills. It's interesting that the thing that brings you there, may not be what you pursue later. I originally went for 3D Scanning and Fabrication. Now I work in the Nuclear Fusion project, and can't wait to study CRISPR.

Ridiculously amazing price to use their amazing shops. Take a free tour of the place to see your self. Membership is literally month to month so you can cease your membership if you find you didn't like the place or end up not frequenting the shop as much as you anticipated. I believe it was like 50 a month or something for 24 hour access (they use a card reader thing). They have a wood shop, metal shop, car shop, more C&C machines you can count, 3d printing lab, and just so so so much more. I was very impressed. Everything is communal and tight nit, very down to place to work on your projects.
