The service attitude was very bad. If you didn't make the reservation, you cannot eat there. There will be an 8 people group in an hour, and the host was angry and didn't want to talk with us. Taking away is not possible neither.

The most amazing food. We had the pig. Homestyle service. Need to reserve ahead of time and it can be done in person. I would run back there in a heartbeat.
My boyfriend and I had dinner here just this past Thursday evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and the ambiance. We came to the Douro after a surf trip where our instructor helped us make the reservations. The restaurant is cozy, and the Chef, Graça Montiero, is lovely. We do not speak Portuguese or French, but she was very gracious in communicating with us. When we arrived she led us to her second floor where tables were set and we had a beautiful view of the town square. She brought us bread, honey, olives, and olive oil, then shortly after cod and fish appetizers, as we had selected seafood the day prior when making the reservation. Our main dish was a very large codfish, and we tried our best to eat it all. The portion was large so we failed, but she let us take it with us to finish later. This was one of our favorite meals during our time in Portugal, and we highly recommend it for anyone in the area! Just don’t forget to call the day before and know what you want to eat :) You will not be disappointed!
Really authentic. You must have a reservation. Come with a guide for the best experience . If you drop in you might get tapas but make a reservation to experience the regional food. Fantastic!!!!!
We arrived without a reservation, so they couldn't offer us warm food, but they made some delicious petiscos/tapas which turned out to be one of the best lunches we had while in Portugal. Book ahead if you want to go for sure.
