Worst car rental experience ever - Paid for an Audi but only got a Volkswagen. - Was very surprised the Volkswagen had 8 areas with scratches and dents. - the document states that I took the car at 1608 but by the time I did all the extensive checks and drove out of Verona airport, it was already 1630. I bought the 3 hours extra because I know I may not be able to return at that time 8 days later. Dumb me I should have asked them to change the time to 1630 but I didn’t. - I returned the car at 1928 at Rome airport but the staff who was rude insisted they cannot give any grace despite a downgraded car that’s in bad condition and me buying the 3 hours extra. - So in the end I paid for the 3 hours extra and one extra day. - I emailed Locauto and got a prompt initial reply from the service staff. I explained the situation but I didn’t get any reply thereafter and it’s been more than a week. Doubt I will get any reply now. - Having rented cars in different countries (normally from Hertz or Avis) this is the worst experience ever. Rent at your own risk

Good value, clear instructions, friendly staff, but as the Verona airport office was not open at 7.45 AM Saturday 16th March I could not explain a small issue with the car. Disappointing.
The whorst car rental company i ever rented from! The car broke down in the middle of the day and the company did nothing to help us! They didn't give us a car to replace the broken one, we had to take a 120 euro taxi to one of their branches and eventually we had to rent a car by ourselves from another company! Worst service i ever got! Think twice before you book with this company.
The WORST experience ever!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM! If there is a place to put a complaint a would have and giving the a 0 star. They denied me renting a car because I did not have an international driver's license. While Budget Rental car (the desk across from Locauto) did. I have rented cars in almost five continents, and this is the first time I have experience this humiliation. And, on top of this they denied me the refund. If I would be in Verona longer I would call the authorities on them. Freaking UNBELIEVABLE!!! They don't know who they have made upset.
I used enterprise/locauto as they are a reputable company and I have used enterprise in other countries. I wasn't disappointed. I got a small but brand new car. Picking the car up was smooth and service excellent - after paperwork and the obligatory sales pitch for extra insurance (I suggest you get private insurance online and not from the rental company; it works out much cheaper) the car was checked over jointly with an employee. Documents signed on the iPad are immediately emailed to you. Returning the car was just as easy, and I handed it back to an employee who again checked the car (and fuel) in my presence and emailed me the documents signed instantly. Very happy and will use them again - they may be slightly pricier than other companies , but you are unlikely to get conned as they are actually a reputable car rental company and not a scam operation (I am looking at you, GoldCar and Autovia).
