Update: The head doctor of this clinic contacted me before the end of business day. I was very impressed by his quick response and concern. He stated that even though the policy does exist that visitors are not allowed there are situations for reasonable exceptions. He acknowledged that my history as the veteran’s caretaker and the fact that we live in the same house allow for such an exception. I was told he spoke to the nurses and he rescheduled the appointment. At this point I will only pursue the complaint against the rude nurse. I am pleased with his response. Original review: I am a caregiver for a veteran who goes to this clinic. They have at times been kind and understanding but after today's interaction I will seek care for my veteran elsewhere. I am also filling a complaint in every available way. Due to what they said were their standard covid rules they would not allow me, his Healthcare proxy, to attend his appointment even after he expressed concern, became visibly upset, and stated he needed me to understand what strangers say to him. They became hostile and rude when I requested they grant this reasonable exception. Seeing as I have attended every single one of his appointments since the pandemic began I find this sudden change unnecessary and detrimental to the mental health of veterans. A certain nurse was especially rude and condescending, suggesting that only a veteran declared incompetent had a right to assistance in the doctors office. I will stand by my veteran and not allow him to be bullied into Healthcare that makes him uncomfortable. My question is will the NYS VA stand by the veterans?

Only answering machines and automated lines. No way to actually call and talk to a human being.

My grandmother, Alice E. Lindsley, had cataract surgery here in the 1970s. She was referred by Dr. Edward Genoves of Hudson. Excellent service and the operation was successful.
