An iconic sight of Cefalù. Lovely medieval buildings are backed by the cathedral and to Rocca hill. Best to be viewed from the beach.

Pass through the gate and you'll see one of the most iconic views of Sicily. Dozens of ancient houses, lined up along the shoreline, are reflecting in the turquoise sea. La Rocca cliff stands above all of them in the background. This scenery made me feel like part of some impressionist painting.

It is a nice romantic place, especially if it's empty.

Beautiful but packed with tourists in August

Renowned for a picturesque gate, named after the viceroy who had it restored in 1570, Porta Pescara features an old town, harbour and beach. The beach is relative small and get crowded in the summer months. The majority of shops and restaurants are on the pricey end. Porta Pescara is the perfect place for a day trip, located 72 kilometers from Palermo by car. The town's restaurants shut down between 2 PM and 6 PM so plan accordingly. The coast of Celafu is a great spot for hiking, bathing, snorkeling, diving and day trips to the surrounding islands.
