The visitor's center bldg. Wasn't open the Friday and Saturday we visited. We walked a 1 mile trail through a beautiful wooded area! One tree blocked a path slightly, other than that, it was a fairly easy trail. Watch out for horse drippings as the horse riders appear to like it too!

Medcine Bow National Forest.. beautiful, and no crowds. Plenty of scenic areas and wildlife.

Seasonal operation, typical USFS operation. Ample RV & car parking. Outdoor restrooms and readerboard area map outside. In summer season the center is staffed to answer questions and there are brochures for the forest attractions.

Great visitors center with information on the area. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Suggested many hikes in the area. Make sure to stop before heading into the forest if only to chat with the staff.
