Great food, at an affordable price. Kamakura is probably the best hibachi grill I've been to in Central Illinois. I'd especially recommend their lunch specials!

Would not recommend this dining establishment. Food was poor quality, Service fell way short and it smelled like a college bar the day my wife and I ate there.

I took my god son there for dinner on June 28th. The server was nice enough, but the hibachi chef was rushed and messed up the food orders. My god son and I got the same meal except I got scallops. A few hours after I finished my meal I became violently ill and had to leave work. After several hours of throwing up and diarrhea I had to drive to Danville to see a Dr at the VA. They confirmed it was food poisoning but could not figure out exactly what caused it but the main suspect was the scallops. For a over priced 71 dollar meal they also cost me 100 dollars from missing work and 65 dollars gas to go to the VA. So, in conclusion save yourself a horrible meal and experience, there are better Japanese restaurant options in the CU area.

Tasty, been going for over 15 years, best unagi in town, but it closed two weeks ago and is being replaced by a new restaurant.

I travel quite a bit for my job and I must say this is the worst japanese restaurant I have ever tried. I tried the filet Teppan dinner and the soup was horrible, the salad wasn't any better, the vegetables were over-cooked, and finally the filet had a lot of fat on it. I guess the only part of the dinner that was almost acceptable was the rice. I certainly hope that there is a better Japanese restaurant in Champaign. I defenitely don't reccomend trying this place.

My boyfriend and I ordered the Orange Dragon roll, Crunch roll (spicy tuna), udon noodle soup, and Cha-Shu Ramen Combo (with sake maki roll). The Orange Dragon was decent, but we felt it was overpriced (15). We had a coupon for the Crunch roll, so of course that was pretty good, however most sushi places won't mess up a spicy tuna roll. The udon noodle soup was delicious, served with 1 sweet potato slice, onion slice, cucumber slice, and 3 small shrimp tempura. His ramen had good flavor, and was a great deal since it came with an order of salmon or tuna roll for only 2 more. We may come back for the Japanese entrees (noodles), but definitely won't be coming back for sushi. Staff was great, though!
