Definite improvement from previous management!!!! Relieved with the Gefen property takeover, as they definitely have started to make improvements with repairs and quicker responses. The new property manager, Ryan, is super friendly and professional has told me they plan on upgrading the building. The main plus is the proximity to campus bars/ classes and the new lighting / security camera system which makes me feel much safer.

So glad Gefen Property Group took over this property! Property Manager Ryan is nice and always so helpful! Maintenance also responds very quickly unlike the previous management company. Highly recommend!
Immeditate improvements when the new owners took over. They work will with you and they give special attention to each apartment! I spoke way too soon!!! I gave them a 5 star initially because I was so excited about all the improvements... but upon further review. Please for the love of god and everything holy do not move here. If you are a student 20 in age this place is not for you. The place is totally unkept, dirty, and the new paint job is absolutely gross. If you have any love for yourself do not move here. They are nothing more than grimy capitalist.
When the new management bought the building (end of 2019) safety upgrades such as cameras were added. The hallways have been painted and staircases cleaned. The price, location, and layout of this apartment is great.
My friend stays there it's really nice and the property manager Ryan is excellent. Highly recommended.!
I lived at The Alcove from my sophomore through senior year while attending the U of I. It was a great option for student living as it was only a few blocks from the quad and was really affordable. While it was neglected by the former management, the new management has been very attentive through maintenance calls and improvements to the building.
Small, everything is falling apart laundry burns your clothes and they’re still somehow never fully dried
