Haryana and Punjab Vidhan Sabha building has been beautifully designed to look like a ship. One of the greatest architectural concrete building work in Chandigarh. Adjacent to this building Hon'ble High Court and Civil Sectariate of Haryana and Punjab buildings are also situated which are equally beautiful.

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, also called Haryana Legislative Assembly Secretariat is one of the most magnificent buildings in the city beautiful. The Vidhan Bhawan building is common for both the Haryana and the Punjab State Legislative Assemblies. Haryana emerged to be a separate State on the map of India on November 1, 1966. Right from the times of the British Raj till the partition of the country in 1947, and thereafter, since its bifurcation from the erst-while Punjab State in 1966, it has remained the citadel of democracy and more so the hub of politics in the country. Haryana also enjoys the privilege of being a nucleus of ancient civilization and culture of India. It is the land of sages and seers, where Vedas were composed and immortal message of the Gita was wrought.

Palace of Assembly is a legislative assembly designed by noted architect Le Corbusier and located in Chandigarh, built around the 1950s in India. It is part of the CapitolComplex, which comprises three buildings — Legislative Assembly, Secretariat and High Court. This building was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016. After the partition of Punjab, in 1947 following the Independence of India, the divided Punjab required a new capital as Lahore was now in Pakistan. Thus Le Corbusier was commissioned by first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru to build a new city of Chandigarh as the capital of Punjab and newly carved state of Haryana. The brief for the design was a city "unfettered by the traditions of the past, a symbol of the nation's faith in the future". Subsequently, Corbusier and his team built not just a large assembly and high court building, but all major buildings in the city, and down to the door handles in public offices. Today many of the buildings are considered modernist masterpieces, though most are in a state of neglect. In 2010, chairs from the assembly building were auctioned in London; a diplomatic attempt to stop the sale failed, as the items were "condemned" and deemed unfit for use.
