We always make sure to come to the Fish Pier every year! Our kids love to watch the seals swim around the fishing boats as they unload - you're always guaranteed to see a few! At the market the fish is fresh and their clam chowder is some of the best on the Cape (seriously you won't be disappointed!).

Beautiful place to visit plus great seafood
Great spot to take the family and watch the boats being unloaded with their different catches and see some seals while you're at it. Do your research and find out when the boats are coming in if you really want to whole experience.
We visited this afternoon. The pier is under construction, and apparently is supposed to be closed to visitors until construction is complete. However, so many visitors were showing up anyways that a couple officials were directing traffic and allowing visitors over to a limited area by the Fish Market. We watched a fishing boat come in and unload some lobster cargo. The Market sold a few staples (ice cream, bread, prepared sea food). It was very hot and there wasn’t much space or shade (particularly since the area they let visitors into was so limited), but it was still fun and we were glad we visited. There were restrooms and a water fountain by the upper parking lot.
This is a great spot, though it can get a bit busy during the height of the summer vacation season. It is a great spot for families with young children. It is a decent spot for wildlife watching. Make sure to keep an eye out for the seals who swim around the area. There are usually a couple seals who are swimming right around the pier looking for the occasional dropped fish. There is an observation deck above the unloading area, which offers a great view of the area. Bring binoculars, or use the pay binoculars (25 cents for a couple minutes) mounted on the observation deck for a better view. There is a fish shop right next to the pier, which sells both fresh fish and prepared food.
Great spot to see some seals in their natural habitat. They live hanging by the boats hoping for some scraps. Kids love watching the boats unload. Great views too.
Very cool seeing a small piece of the process of how seafood ends up on your table. It's also fun watching the seals who hang out for the scraps off the fishing boats.
The kids love watching the boats being unloaded. The seals playing with their young and eating what the fishermen give them. It was awesome.
