I booked a trip to Berlin 3 months ago to see family. I wanted to go shopping for pedals specifically. Went to a couple of shops that online advertised what they had. Arrived to them and nothing like what was online "available" Although Checkpoint don't open until afternoon I can't fault the service or the stock. If you research what you see is what you get. I found the staff to be very helpful and more than welcoming. I knew what I wanted and I was helped all the way. When I have time to return to Berlin I won't hesitate to return and make another purchase
I strongly do not recommend this shop - the owner seemed irritated that I want to try 2/3 amplifiers saying that all of them are broken so he cannot plug them in. When asking about a small amp he said that there's nothing and when I found one on display myself it took a lot of effort to convince him to plug it in. He looked down on me the whole time, it seemed like you need to wear a suit and a tie to be respected in this shop. They might have some interesting equipment but most of it is overpriced and the "service" makes you feel like an intruder.
The guys here were very rude. They didn't want us to even touch the guitars much less allow my son to try out one. Not recommended for checking out guitars or stuff you might end up buying. We might have bought something if they were friendlier. Very different experience from the guitar store in Munich where one of the guys even jammed with my son--we bought some stuff from there and will definitely visit again when we are back in Munich. Avoid Checkpoint Guitars if you are a musician or a budding player visiting Berlin--or else be prepared for a very rude welcome.
Some 15 years ago I bought an excellent guitar in that shop. I still use it with great pleasure.

Alot of Cool Guitars and amps, but an undfriendly staff. I was looking for a new amp, but ended up buying a strap and left asap. It was not a plecent visit.
After reading the negative Google Reviews, I decided to take a look at Checkpoint Guitars, even though most of their gear is out of my price range. I was met with friendly service and decent advice (was on the lookout for a tubescreamer-type pedal). The selection did include some decent guitars in a mid price range (among them some hidden gems) and there was quite a few pedals to check out. I tried a few guitars, didn't find anything I liked, but was still treated in a very friendly matter. Much recommended for anyone looking for vintage instruments and amps.
