This is a very peaceful and discreet church in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold. We actually drove past it a few times and eventually paid a visit. When strolling along the outside of the church, you're delightfully surprised with the wonderful door surrounded by the two trees that has merged with the church itself - fantastic!. Oh I forgo if you’re hungry, there are plenty of wonderful local places (tea house) around. Enjoy!

First came here after checking in to The Bell on a foggy night. The orange lights casting long shadows from the gravestones made the experience surreal. We then came back for a better look during the day and really loved the architecture. You can't visit Stow-on-Wold and not come to see the amazing entrance flanked by two gnarled yew trees. It's like something straight out of a fantasy world and may well have been an inspiration for Tolkien!

If you love Lord of the rings and JRR Tolkien, then you should stop here and see the door that inspired the entrance into moria. Lovely church ground and town as well, plenty of good places to eat. Typically not busy at all. Should be able to walk up and ponder the creative mind of Tolkien :)
