One of the biggest cricket club. Cricket was his religion and the Madras Cricket Club was his Church, it was said of one of its most illustrious members since its inception in 1846. how well the description would have fit so many before and after him! Inextricably entwined with the history of Madras (and later Tamil Nadu) Cricket, the institution founded by that eminent civil servant, Sir Alexander Arbuthnot, largely to fill the Englishman’s need for a home away from home, continues to mean as much to its members today as it did 150 years ago.

Love the ambience and the spectacular views of the famous Chepauk cricket grounds from the pavilion end. Good varieties of liquor and food.

It is a delight to be a member of MCC. I have visited this club once to watch an IPL. It has a classic restaurant inside and a lot of privileges to the members.

Every cricket lovers dream place to be, entering the majestic stadium itself gives you a thrill, the Madras cricket club is part of the pavilion, so that extra thrill. Walk through the passages which was also seen the footsteps of the famous cricketers. They have photographs dating back to the first match played adorning the walls. The halls and restaurants bear cricketing names. Food service is also good.A very memorable experience awaits anyone visiting here. Either you have to be a member of the club or a guest to someone who is a member to gain access.

The MCC is amazing. Although it can very humid in the summer. Decent food, but the furniture is very old. There is both the outdoor seating restaurant and the indoor one. The indoor (AC's) one can give some relief from the humidity.
