Working with a group of dedicated volunteers, they strive to educate people on sustainable living, solid waste segregation and management. I have attended their workshops/webinars and found them very informative and easy to implement. To implement home composting I have also ordered their composting bins.

I have made an effort to follow eco friendly ways for a long time. When I came in contact with #nammaoorufoundation @Namma Ooru Foundation, I had a new direction to what I believed in. I started composting with their Bioclean bricks! The information shared helped me understand the need for composting first in order to save our landfills. I have had some really good harvests of compost ( thanks to NOF methods) and know how much food waste I have saved from going into landfills.

My interaction with Namma Ooru Foundation started with me attending their Green Chennai 2020 conference. I got to learn a lot about the current practices being followed and also the best practices to be followed on sustainable waste management. After meeting a few of the team members on that day, I decided to join the NOF team to learn more on this topic and also contribute to a very real and current problem (solid waste management) that Chennai is facing. Since joining, I see first hand that each member in the team is charged up! And the founder Mr.Natarajan is driven and goal-oriented which makes them successful. Hats off to the team, and happy to be part of it!

Run entirely by volunteers, NOF is passionate about the environment and getting people to make a difference through changes in personal habits and behaviours. Their depth of shared expertise in SWM is robust and I and my household have benefited a lot from my association with them. We consume less, we send less to the landfill and we compost our wet waste! Thanks to NOF and it’s influence on us!
