This place used to house the Legendary Drive in Woodlands hotel. After the lease contract was over the Government of Tamil Nadu took over the land and build this park. Just next to the US Consulate, the ever busy Cathedral and Anna Flyover it provides a break from the noise and pollution. One can definitely spend 2 to 3 hours at peace in this place which is full of trees and shade. Though designed to be a wonderful garden, it lacks maintenance and upkeep thanks to successive changing governments. A nominal entry fee of INR 15 is charged at the entrance. Enough parking space is a welcome thing, which is charged separately. For those who want to visit the place, I suggest going there on weekdays and no-holidays to enjoy the peaceful set up. Of course if someone is near the cathedral road and does not want to spend time in the scotching heat, this is the place to go.

Nice place in the heart of Chennai city for a stroll in the morning or to spend your leisure time in the evening simply sitting on the benches. Good ambience & well Enough parking space is a welcome thing, which is charged separately. For those who want to visit the place, I suggest going there on weekdays and no-holidays to enjoy the peaceful set up. Of course if someone is near the cathedral road and does not want to spend time in the scotching heat, this is the place to go.. Suited for families with kids, couples & elderly.

Really nice place to visit in the city Chennai. Good botanical garden experience but flowers are a little less and also less maintained park. It can be cleaned and reconstructed even more to make the park look beautiful. Good toilet facilities. No proper canteen or food is available inside the park. Also the light show is good but it starts late mostly because of the sun sets late. Also there are a lot of mosquitoes in the park. No lights are available for the visitors to get to the exit who have come to see the light show. They can even get lost in the dark. Better facilities could be made available. So as to attract more tourists in the park.

An amazing place right in the middle of the city. This places needs to be used or visited more often. If this place is given for hosting functions or events will be an amazing location. There is little of no commercial development in this place. A good place to visit during monsoon season.

This place is loaded with green and lots of fresh air in the middle of the city. This place can look much more better if Little more care is given to maintain this park. This place also acts as a very good hide out for lovers. Kind request if the park administration takes necessary steps to avoid this to avoid the embarrassment of the visitors especially those with children.

This is the first time i visited chennai. So searched for the places to visit. This was one of them. So went with the family but it was kind of lovers park. Only couples around holding each other. Even when we went to play area which is kids, is being used by them for gun. No security around. It is good for couples not for family with kids.

Park with lot of greenery but less flowering plants in posh location in City. Maintenance needs to be improved and they should consider planting variety of flowering plants. Car and bike parking with proper facilities.
