Narayanan Mangalath

This is an ancient Carnatic music Hall which has witnessed many a legendary musician perform between its four walls. Sadly the place has seen no improvement since it's inception. On the other hand, concerts there tend to be rather intimate and cosy affairs as the capacity is quite small.

I attended an event in the small hall upstairs for the Chennai fine arts concert series. Not a bad space for a small concert or other event. The sound was not great in the room though.

Good for a small gathering. Parking available..the corridor is not so we'll lit...wash area n toilet situated a lil away.. in case u decide to cater in the hall

Lovely place for sentimental fools like me who think of all the greats who have sung in this place. As a hall it's less than perfect no lift, moulded chairs and a half hearted attempt to modernise it with Air conditioning. Frankly, I feel it should be totally renovated or just left as it was in the 80s, with minimal changes in the interest of cleanliness that's all. Right now, it feels like trying to add pizza on a banana leaf as part of the muhurtham menu!

The hall was pretty small. May it can accommodate about 75 people. But, the accoustics of the hall was very nice inspite of being small

Simple. Compact. Could be reached by bus , EMU ( Neat Thirumylai Railway station ). Now Air conditioned. Rest Rooms could be better . Thanks

I visited for a cultural function @first floor....was a decent hall and good for small functions and events...bathroom was clean..less parking space inside...need to park outside
