Outdoor swimming pool located very near to the Student Activity Center inside IIT madras. There are two pools inside, one is for beginners and the other one a normal pool with around 3.5-4m depth. Very well maintained and very clean. You need a membership card to enter inside. The washrooms are also very well maintained.

You would need to initially apply and get fitness certificate from IITM hospital. Then submit it to gymkhana. Pay the monthly fees then you would receive the approval. Buy swim wear and then in dedicated time slot come and enjoy. There are two pools. One international standard and other shallow. You would be tested to swim initially and in case you swim, they allow you to swim in larger pool else you would be asked to learn in shallow pool and then shift to larger pool. Many months due to lack of water, pool maybe closed. There would be some training sessions. Try attending them and learn to swim. During regular days, you wouldn't be taught.

It’s moderate in size , but well equipped. The care takers are good here , they keep it clean every time. It’s open air type, so you are with full of natural beauty . Sometimes it’s hard to get trainer so we have to take help of our seniors . You will have to carry you swimming suit with you . Water games also happen here time to time.
