K.பழனிசாமி அவர்களின் அறிக்கை In an attempt to curtail the spreading of Covid 19 virus, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had announced earlier for closure of all public transports including Metro Train services till 31st March 2020 in a bid to curtail the spread of the Covid 19 virus in the state. Due to pandemic outbreak of Covid-19, as per the directive by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for a complete lock down in a bid to control the spread of the virus till 14th April 2020 and in addition to the directive by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to keep all public transports including Metro Train services closed till 14th April 2020 in the State of Tamil Nadu. Chennai Metro Rail Limited has decided to keep its services closed till 14th April 2020 as per the above directives. The move is aimed at encouraging the public to stay indoors and maintain social distancing, which is essential in the fight against Covid- 19 Due to pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 Chennai Metro Rail Limited has decided to keep its services closed till 31st March 2020. Change it Metro train services from 23-03-2020 till 31-03-2020 In the meeting held with MoHUA and all Metro Officials it was emphasized that adequate precautions to be taken at all stations and offices to avoid spreading of COVID-19 through personal contacts. Several initiatives have been taken to control the pandemic by testing passengers using temperature sensor, cleaning trains, ticketing places, entry and exit gates at frequent intervals, making available sanitizers at entry, liquid soaps in the rest room areas, displaying Do’s and Dont’s to spread awareness and public announcements at stations and in trains. In the wake of “JANTA CURFEW” to be observed on tomorrow 22-03-2020(Sunday), Chennai Metro Rail Limited has decided to keep its services closed for one day. Further, to prevent spread of COVID 19, Chennai metro rail Limited has decided to reschedule the services from 23rd march 2020 (Monday) to 31st March 2020(Tuesday)as follows 6:00am to 08:00 am restricted for citizens engaged in essential services 08:00 am to 10:00 am for Office goers on essential duties Metro train services will be unavailable on the below mentioned timings: 1. 4:30 am till 6:00 am 2. 10:00 am to 4:00 pm 3. 8:00 pm till 11:00 pm 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm restricted only for citizens engaged in essential services and other office goers engaged in essential duties. The above steps have been taken in public interest to discourage non-essential travel. CMRL appeals to the public to cooperate in this endeavour. In connection with precautionary measures undertaken against the novel COVID-19 Virus. Sterilization and disinfecting of Metro trains and stations are being followed for the safety of the passengers at terminal stations and rigorously followed at all Metro Stations. In this connection, Saturday timetable will be followed for weekdays also w.e.f 23/03/2020 till 31/03/2020.Trains will run with a headway of 7 mins instead of 5 mins throughout the day from Washermanpet to Airport Via Ag-DMS in the Blue Line and Central to Airport Via Koyambedu in the Green Line. Passengers travelling from Central Metro to St.Thomas Mount will get Metro Trains with a headways of 14 mins throughout the day. Metro Train service has been normalized at 04-30 pm between Airport to AG-DMS Metro on today (09-03-2020). All Metro Train Services are currently running as per normal time table. Metro train services will be available on the Single line between Airport to AG-DMS Metro from 15:17 hrs on today (09-03-2020) Metro train services will be available every 15 minutes from Airport to Alandur & Alandur to AG- DMS Metro Station. Inter corridor train sevices between Central Metro and Airport Metro have been suspended. All Metro trains are running between Chennai Central and St.Thomas mount as per schedule. Metro Train services between AG- DMS metro station and Washermanpet metro station are functioning as per schedule. There are no changes in Metro train timings on the above route. Passengers are requested to make the necessary arrangements for their journeys.
