My rating would be 2.5 for this slightly overhyped place. We reached there around 1:15 pm and was able to secure a spot, otherwise there was a huge waiting time post 2:30 pm. The claim is that this is a very traditional mallu joint, but it waa no where close to it. There was cream in everything just to make the dishes rich. The quantity was way toooooooo little for the price they charge. Following were the dishes we ordered: Kandhari chemmeen(prawn) - very very small quantity. The taste was creamy, good and like the pink sauce pasta. Nethili fry - it was a normal battered fried nethili. I liked the crispy curry leaves which came along. Nadan chicken fry - the masala was good and the chicken was well cooked. Prawn mango curry - this was a creamy, tomato, prawn and mango gravy and went along with appam. Chicken stu - this was a total disapointment. It was very bland and tasted like corn flour gravy. Totally tasteless. Mutton thalassery biriyani - this was very average, even a small joint in perungudi(Kottaram) has great thalassery biriyani. Beef dry fry - the masala was good and the meat was well cooked and soft. The ambience was good, colorful and service was very good, authentic kerala taste of food is something this place lacks.

It was our first time in "That mallu joint" and we weren't having any high hopes but their hospitality and yummy food was beyond our expectations. My whole family loved the food and the service team were very genuine and friendly. Even though the place was quite crowded and busy . They gave everyone equal importance and gave us the table without any further waiting. Keep going. Looking forward to visit anytime soon.

Its really very good taste in each and every dish/ bites. First they gave you jeera hot water which is good for health. Then starter they have varieties i have tried Panner Kandari, Chicken roast then veg meals have rasam, Sambar, Morekulambu, side dishes are awesome. Malabar Parota is so soft, lamb chops curry is superb, last tender coconut ice cream is excellent I will visit once again to have it. Overall its Awesome

This experience from That Mallu Joint located at Tnagar goes on to my list always a special one because of various positives. As a foodie who always used to ignore sea foods and beef this was my proper try. Starting with Kandhari Prawns it was cooked well and tasted so good that I felt prawns smelled better rather than the usual types that made me avoid sea foods. As usual my curiosity went for their malabhar parottas for which the sides thay we tried were Nadan Kozhi Curry, Erachi Roast and Erachi Ularthiyadhu. Both the dishes based on beef was cooked well and good. Over all it was a good experience, that made us feel that quantity was a bit less for kandhari prawns but then again it was all for that good taste.

Delicious food. Prawn starter, Karimeen fry and Elaneer ice cream are a must try.

The food was amazing. No doubt. But the service and the attitude of waiters is the worst. You feel like getting up and leaving. They ruin the reputation of a really good eatery just coz they are too lazy to talk decently or have a smile on their face when they talk..
