Martha is incredibly organized, and her supporting material is exceptional, she really does strive for a tailor-made experience. Martha is very engaging and personable, with charm and character. The most important trait though is Martha’s patience and encouragement, allowing her student to learn at the right pace and with the necessary support for your own personal development. The lessons are well structured and varied; developing all skills needed it be a well-rounded Spanish learner. Martha certainly pusher you! I only wish I had more time outside the lessons to complete all the homework and supporting material. My Spanish has progressed hugely under Martha’s supervision, and only until working with Martha have I realized what I’ve been missing for so long; not only in my knowledge gaps but also in a teacher!

Martha Jesty has been an incredible teacher, she is extremely passionate about teaching Spanish and also about the countries and cultures which speak Spanish. Martha has been more than a teacher on so many levels, her positivity and passion radiates from her and you can't help but be infected by it. Even during some of the most unsettling and crazy times she has always greeted me with such warmth, kindness and positive energy it's impossible not to end a lesson with a smile on your face. She has been so kind and enthusiastic about my learning. It has really helped to keep me on track with my language journey. This is not just a job to Martha and you can really feel that in all of her lessons, not only does her character make her amazing but she is also an incredible teacher who is patient, super encouraging and fun, taking the time to make sure everything in the lesson is understood and has been absorbed, her experience and knowledge about teaching is second to none. I would 100% recommend Spanish Lessons in Surrey to anyone wanting to learn Spanish but has no clue where to start. I have learnt so much in such a small amount of time and have also grown a lot. I have become way more confident and I am less afraid of making mistakes. I am learning that dyslexia is just a word and does not define me. Since completing the course I have felt so much more prepared to learn more Spanish, I think I could definitely do some more work on it but feel like I have the mental tools in order to do this now. I am hoping to be able to go backpacking around South and Central America for possibly a year and know the effort I am putting in now will mean my experience to be so much deeper and meaningful in the long run
I enjoyed learning with Martha. Each lesson was tweaked according to how I was learning that day. She was very patient and encouraging, adapting classes as needed. This adaptive structure helped me learn according to how my mind worked vs a strict structure of a curriculum. I thoroughly enjoyed the online course. Juggling work, childcare, pregnancy and Spanish having online classes enabled me to continue with them during the lockdown but also helped me fit it into a tight timeframe. I felt there was little difference between online vs in person classes and going forward would want to continue with online.
Martha Jesty’s style is very clear and direct. She gives good encouragement and support whilst at the same time not trying to spoon feed the students. Martha enthusiastically discusses and teaches a wide range of subject matter to help learn the language. The lessons are relaxed and fun whilst still retaining a learning environment. She is very knowledgeable in the methods of learning a language and the way the brain works when absorbing and storing information plus the way to remember it once inside your head. She clearly conveys this during her lessons. Martha introduces different aspects of Spanish and Latin American life into the lessons whenever possible in order to help teach the language and give added interest. Martha provides a good and clear teaching methodology. She makes sure everybody is included and continually encourages students to speak, participate and contribute. She gives clear guidance and advice. The lessons have also been fun. In the space of a few months after not having any prior experience (Level 0) of the language I am surprised as to just how much I have learnt. I feel the more I learn, the more it becomes easier to learn new things and certainly my confidence has increased. We were continually encouraged in the classes and a genuine interest shown into how each of us were progressing. Yes, I would recommend the language school Spanish Lessons in Surrey“.
Martha is fun and engaging teacher. She is challenging and adapts the lessons to help test me. She offers good encouragement to give me confidence and I have thoroughly enjoyed the lessons so far. I like that I receive materials from Martha that I can use in my own time which helps with my learning in the week. The online lessons are almost as effective, I think, as the face to face. You miss out on some of the enjoyment, as working through the computer isn’t as interactive, however, it is surprising how much you can still do and I think it work well.
