First time and last time I ever see this provider! Her office sends me a letter in the mail almost 2 weeks prior to my office visit telling me to contact my insurance company to find out if specific Billing codes/their tax payer id would be covered under my insurance. So, I called to confirm and was told that my insurance covers at 100%! I therefore let them know of this at the time of check in for my appt visit. Normally I pay 40 specialist copay, which i did and the office refunded it back to me, which I thought was weird when they haven’t even billed my insurance yet. Now, almost 3 weeks later I’m getting a 202 bill for this shameful office visit! I look to find out why, and it’s because this office billed my visit as an outpatient hospital visit. I was never told this as I thought the billing codes in the letter they mailed me to confirm with my insurance is what they were billing as. Anyway, sadly I feel duped and I will be having medical offices start explaining to me how they are going to bill my visits for now on. I have never had a specialist do that not even the gastroenterologist I’ve seen at DePaul Hospital along with a foot doctor I saw. I just pay my 40 co pay and insurance picks up the rest. Not with this nutritionist. Smh \u200d️ \u200d️
