Well worth the 2 hour ride from the coast. I like history and this place is full of it. Seeing and experiencing all this site has to offer is an inspiration to the people that built these pyramids and the incredible irrigation systems that are a part of it. Those people designed and built them even before Europe built all those big castles of the middle ages. So much of this history is hidden until one peels back the layers. The tour guide and others at the site are knowledgeable and professional. Very glad I saw and witnessed it all. Would love to see it again.

Amazing archeological site. Very well preserved and low traffic. Great place not only to tour but to spend time meditating and connecting with it's high energy.

Arrived at the site. We were offered a tour by Roberto for 250mx. My husband was really interested in knowing the history so we agreed. The tour was fine. Roberto spoke great English and provided a 45min tour. At the end of the tour he suddenly demanded 350mx and claimed it was a "communication error" despite his English having been perfect for the 45min tour. Be cautious and aware of this tactic. Also bring mosquito repellent. The place is great but I will remember it for the wrong reasons.

Personally one of my favourite sites to visit, don't miss it if you're nearby. It is well-kept and better priced than the more famous ones - 150mx for adults, children free. There are signs providing good information on the different buildings. When we visited there were few other people there. The setting is amazing with jungle all around the ruins. It's an 8 km drive from the main road.

Amazing Mayan complex, where you can actually see most of the complex up close, climb the pyramids and even, if you are very lucky, see and hear the local monkey troupe. Extensive area and lots of fascinating details.

This is a very well kept place that has huge historical stories to be told. That have restored some of the damages but kept it in theme with the original structure.
