Went just before closing so fortunately there wasn't a huge lineup. Tried a couple of the various tarts - pineapple, pineapple with egg yolk, plum, logan etc. Didn't disappoint as I heard a lot about it prior, the crust was flaky and buttery but the fillings were really soft and moist. A bit on the pricey side at around at least 30 NT each tart, but I guess that's what you get for the apparently best bakery in Taiwan! Would recommend.

My local Taipei friends all said this was the best place to get the famous pineapple cakes. While the pineapple cake was good I didn't find them much different from others I've had, what was outstanding were the nougat green onion cookies 蔥軋餅 which were delicious ! The line outside was very long but they were efficient in only allowing a few people in at a time so was not crazy crowded. You just fill out a form with your order and pay directly at the cashiers. Like most people, I bought these as perfect gifts ;)
Soft & buttery crusts with semi-sweet pineapple filling! I am personally not a pineapple cake fans but I have been enjoying this little sweet treat after dinner for two days in a row already. No wonder Chia-Te is a popular bakery known for delicious pineapple cakes & traditional pastries

Chia Te Bakery sells tasty and authentic Chinese sneak, pineapple cake! They have not only traditional one but all kinds of taste in my pictures. They have more than just pineapple cakes but also different Chinese sneaks. As a Taiwanese, this is one of my personal favorite brand of pineapple cake in Taiwan. I bring this aboard as a gift to my friends every time. Highly recommended to buy this if you visit Taiwan! Love it.
Buying famous souvenir for cny. I prefer their cranberry ones over the pineapple tart, bought other flavour home to try. Why the 3-star? Cause the sales person are quite redundant, when u ask them question they answer like "u should know" . They give me impression that their role is there to warn u about donts or make announcement but not to serve. Ask them about the stock " ask the counter", when u ask the counter, " if it's not on the shelf, then there's no more". . But if u r independent shopper, do research before u go, no problem here.
Great selection of pastries and yummy pineapple cake. One of the iconic, and popular brand for pineapple cake. Sometimes there is a long waiting line, so go there early. It's great to buy this brand as souvenir, but other brands doesn't taste bad, it's cheaper as well.
Possibly Taiwan's most famous pineapple cake shop. There's only one branch so I recommend that you visit early to avoid long queues. They require you to fill out an order form for their best selling products while other baked goods can be bought off the shelf. I was pretty enamored by the smell of freshly baked pastries that I had to buy something else apart from the pineapple cakes which was the only item I intended to buy.
