This museum is a gem! There is a lot of interesting technology on display. A well-written English guidebook containing pictures and detailed descriptions is available upon request. Cost is only 500 yen. The staff was also very helpful. The museum is geared towards adults or teenagers. It is as quiet and is as relaxing to explore as an art gallery.

興建於日治時期昭和十二年 (1937)，為日治時期 獄方為司獄官警日常練武所設之武道館舍，是台中市內碩果僅存之武德殿建築式樣。日治時期分別有警察（武德殿）、獄政（演武場）及軍方（武道場）等系統。 台中刑務所演武場創建於大正元年（1912），係獄方司獄官警日常練武所設置之武道館舍，值得一遊，還可以到道禾文化館品茗喝茶
大人も子供も楽しめる科学スポット。放電実験は迫力あり。夏季に上映されるプラネタリウムも素敵です。 コロナ禍で現在は規模縮小して開館中。再開が待たれます
