A Ganesh temple with lots of Ganesh portraits and a main statue. Everyone is welcome but not everyone gets to do the arti!!!! Traveled 7 hrs to get to the temple but some aunties didn't let me do arti saying only volunteers can do it. Well not everyone lives nearby! Not mad just upset.

I discovered this place while walking on Devon Avenue. A very unpretentious Hindu place where the statue of Lord Ganesha is prominently enshrined. There is a sense of peace that one's feel when in a sacred place. You have to take off your footwear as you enter as a show of respect. There was a young looking man who I later learned as the pandit (priest). He is very friendly and seems to be shy. He offered if I want to receive a blessing. He said some prayers and tied a piece of string on my left wrist with a blessing. I am not a Hindu but I felt that the divine is in here. As far as I understand, God is in many forms that come to us so we can understand Him better depending on where we came from. This time in the form of a Hindu deity. I don't know much about religion but I know that we cannot limit God. He comes in mysterious ways. I left the temple feeling well and promised myself that I will come back and maybe bring some incense as a gift to God for introducing Himself to me this fine day.
