One of the oldest building in Chickmaglur town and it is the only Government run Polytechnic in the city which was started in 1958, which is just opposite to town canteen on the road to RathnaGiri. This Polytechnic is named after DharmaPraksh AraleGuppe Chandre Gowda. This Polytechnic also has National Cadet Corps (NCC) army wing.

One of the oldest & top government polytechnic in karnataka, I Have completed diploma in civil engineering 2014-17 batch, great staff lectures and nice infrastructure, providing hostel facility for boys near college, hostel facility was excellent. Civil engineering department MS suresh sir top and best lecture in this college....
