Good way to entertain your children while in Portland. Four floors of hands on exhibits. There is a two and under section. Everything was generally clean and in good working order. Street parking and a lot next door make very accessible although Portland is an eminently walkable city. Recommended.

Having recently visited the children museum of New Hampshire, I was probably expecting more the one in Portland. The museum is on an old building but well maintained, all exhibits in working order and clean. Our son enjoyed the water exhibit on the second floor, the lights exhibition on the third level and the stage in the basement. If were to choose, would probably go to the one in New Hampshire instead of this one.
My kids have visited in different years and both my kids have had a good time. My son liked the first climbing exhibit where you can look out the window. My daughter liked the slide on the same exhibit. The spinning globe my kids liked. The fire truck and shuttle exhibits were popular. I actually liked sharing the aquatic touch tank with my kids. The camera room was ok. We didn't go to the theater. Very friendly staff. AAA discount available. Parking garage nearby. Reasonable priced.
Great museum! My 6 year old loved our visit! Everything is interactive, the staff was so nice, and they are a part of Museums for All, which allows low income patrons a discounted entrance fee. Thanks for a great time!
We took our two granddaughters here and they loved it. Lots of involvement for all ages. Two days later, we took our grandson. He had a blast!
