Chris Lee
I do admit that I had doubts prior to actually coming down to Sydney to complete this course, like do I actually need to enrol myself on a school to become a bartender. However, this, I can proudly say, was the best choice I have ever made.
This course, is not easy, as there is limited time with immense material to cover. If you are thinking this course would be something like you can casually waltz in, drink and make a few cocktails, and sit and get a certificate, please do reconsider. It is full on, and if you are lazy or miss out on a few days, it gets tremendously difficult to catch up and this course can be overwhelming. However, there is a plenty of guidance and help, and by the end of the course, you will find yourself being able to do things that you never imagined you could do at the beginning of the course.
Of course, this is a school, and just like everything else, it doesn’t teach you everything and sometimes you do have to un-learn to adapt to what it is like in real life. But, to have a firm standing ground, or standard, from which you can always refer to, is the strength that this course offers, on top of all other aspects of bartending, such as flair bartending, which not many in Australia offer proper training.
The instructor, Christer, has so much to offer, and he can provide you with more than the course offers, if it is what you are seeking. Not only he trains you to be equipped to work in a bar, but he also makes you think about what values and personal traits are required to work and be successful in this industry.
Overall, it was a pleasant and rewarding 4 weeks that I have invested.
