With only 8 rooms, we really didn't know what to expect. But, we were happily surprised. They picked us up at the bus stop which was helpful, especially in the winter. Though not fancy, this hotel was low key elegant, not to mention that it is located right next to the lake and every room has a view of the lake. We love the view from our room and it was a spacious room, with our own onsen. The room was clean and comfortable. The dining room also has fantastic views. Our Italian dinner and Japanese breakfast were delicious. At sunset and sunrise, we walked out of the front door of the hotel and there was this beautiful lake. So peaceful! Service was excellent!

Everything is great. Room is very clean and spacious. Mountain and lake view from our room is memorable. Unlike many onsen hotels, Suineikaku doesn't have a hint of cigarette smell. Dinner and breakfast was great too. Highly recommend.
So peaceful and calm. I came here in early January, and it's so beautiful to see everything covers in snow. I could see myself go back every year to relax and recharge. The location is awesome as it's right next to Lake Shikotsu. It is expensive, but the service is A, Japanese breakfast and Italian dinner are included, and you have your private onsen and massage chair! They also have two outdoor onsen for you to enjoy as well.
I stayed at the hotel on March 24th for 1 night. It was amazing! Location was beautiful, right by the Lake Shikotsu. I enjoyed the view from my room. Hotel staff were very professional, friendly and warm and their service were exceptional . The room was squeaky clean, and calm . I loved the massage chair the private hot spring bath in the room. So relaxing. The price of the hotel included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was Japanese French fusion cuisine and breakfast was traditional Japanese . Thank you Chef Nemoto for the Elegant dishes. Everything was delicious and perfect!!! I definitely recommend this place when you visit Hokkaido. I would love to go back soon!
Spent a night at this wonderful place, wonderful view of Shikotsu lake, really enjoy the walk along the lake and the sunset. The room is very comfortable, onsen bath and massage chair come with the view of the lake. The village also has outdoor onsen. The food is fabulous too, I really enjoy the French dinner and the Japanese breakfast. It was a quiet and wonderful experience, I actually will to come again even the flight along will take me 20 hours!!

湖が近くて最高でした。 料理も美味しく、 レストランの従業員のオヂサンも中々面白い方でした。 が、チェックインの仕方と、朝の掃除のおばさん方、せっかくここまで高級感あるホテルなのにもったいない。 貸切岩露天で笑ったのが、青い発泡スチロールの蓋がドンと置いてあってこれは無い‼️台無し… もう少し努力が要るかな？
母との北海道旅行で利用。静寂な雰囲気で大人向けの素敵な宿でした。部屋には源泉かけ流しの温泉がついていて、レイクビューも美しく、とても贅沢な時間を過ごせました。ディナーも内容、雰囲気ともに大変満足でした。余韻に浸りたくて、ルームサービスでワイン、チーズを頼んでしまいました。また是非利用したいです。
