Christchurch Toastmasters is a fantastic club for anyone with public speaking phobias or who would simply like to increase their confidence and skills. The club is very friendly and supportive. Personally, I have found the time spent attending club meetings on Tuesday evenings over the past 18 months extremely rewarding. It has helped me overcome my extreme public speaking anxieties and improve my listening skills. If you’re one of those people with lots of ideas to offer during work meetings, but are too shy to speak up, then this club is for you. They have also just introduced a mentoring program that caters to newbies all the way through to advanced speakers.

I joined Christchurch toastmasters during the lockdown with the aim of growing my ability to speak comfortably in front of an audience. I did not know to expect when joining. I am now a fully fledged member and could not recommend toastmasters highly enough for anyone wanting to improve their public speaking or leadership skills. Christchurch toastmasters manages to maintain a lovley mixture of making you feel at ease while also being professional and fulfilling its goal of making you a confident public speaker.

Christchurch Toastmasters is a great environment for who is looking for new challenges. I have started as an way to improve my English and presentation skillas, but now I starting to realize that I can develop many other skills, such as listening with more attention, provide feedbacks, leadership and more.
A great bunch of likeminded and encouraging people. I joined to increase my ability to speak in front of a group, I’ve now been attending for a couple of months and can say that public speaking, while still a little daunting, has become a lot easier.
I enjoyed every meeting that I attended so far. This is a really awesome club!
